This topic is interesting to me since I was into X’s, music back in 2018 when he passed away. It had me interested to find out all about his controversial life/career. Many people know him from his songs like “Sad”, “Look At Me”, or “R.I.P ROACH” which features artist Ski Mask the Slump God. He made an impact amongst SoundCloud rappers and mumble rappers since he was one of the artists who made it more popular following his death. In an article, it is found that x is a very important person when it comes to the popularization of “raw” feelings in rap/hip-hop. According to the author of this article, “XXXTentacion’s music was a stark contrast to the majority of hip-hop at the time, and his work has been crucial in bridging the gap between rap and the alternative music scene. His sound was raw and honest, often tackling issues that other rappers shied away from such as mental health, suicide, and depression.
