In James Baldwin’s “Notes of a Native Son”, many different stories throughout his life are presented to convey his feelings towards his father and his treatment as a young black man in America at the time. He walks the reader through many encounters with his father, which begin with his father’s death. Baldwin describes his feeling the morning of the funeral and the discontent he had at the time.
