James Holmes is one of the most recent serial killers to be caught and charged for what he had done. James killed 12 people and injured 70 others in mass shooting in movie theater in aurora colorado. People showed up to the movie theater expecting to watch the new batman but they got much more than they ever expected. The police station is only about a block away to the theater so the police did not take long to show up and they were able to take James down without having to kill or injure him.
James’s psychiatrist said he was sane at the time and was sane enough to go to for trial for the terrible crime he had done. When he was arrested, Aurora police officer Jason Oviatt, said he was “completely compliant.” "He was just standing there not doing anything, not urgent about anything," Oviatt testified. He also said that “Holmes didn't resist, not in the slightest.” Many of the victims and the victims families showed up to the trial. One victim is Farrah Soudari. She was 23 and at the movies with her co workers when the attack happened. She lost a kidney and spleen and suffered stomach damage. She underwent four surgeries and will need at least one more to repair her leg. Sandy Phillips was also there watching. Her 24 year old daughter was one of the people killed. She said that, "You go right back to the day you lost your loved one. It takes you back to your own grief and doubles it.'' This is just a glimpse of how much hurt James Holmes made.
