James Madison, a well educated Virginia congressmen who is well on his way to become president, and Mary Wollstonecraft, known to be the mother of feminism and decades ahead of her time. Both have earned their own place in history for the things that they believed and fought for. James Madison fought for the rights of the people and even wrote a large portion of the Constitution and nine out of the ten new amendments which became known as the bill of rights. Mary Wollstonecraft wrote A Vindication of the Rights of Men attacking the aristocracy of the time in France and made her famous around the world. So when she wrote her now most rememberable essay A Vindication of the Rights of Women talking about inequalities of women and the standards that they must follow, it was launch worldwide! Starting off with James Madison, the document that is drafted up became known as The Bill of Rights. This was created for amendments to the rights that the original Constitution lacked. Looking at each of the ten amendments in order, the first gives people freedom of religion, speech, and of the press. Second, gives the people right to bear arms and then the third gives people the right to decide if soldiers can stay in their homes. The fourth amendment then protects their house and property from unwarranted search and seizures. Continuing on, the fifth granted protection of life, liberty, and property and the sixth and seventh amendments grants rights in the courts for civil cases and the accused person. The eighth makes sure that no excessive bails or punishments are given and the ninth means that nothing written in the Constitution can be used to cancel amendments to it.
