James Madison was born on March 5th 1751 in Port Conway, Colony of Virginia, British America. He was an American statesman and one of the founding fathers. He is also known as the father of The Constitution For his important roles of writing it. Served on the continental congress during and after the revolutionary war. He helped organize the constitutional convention which led to writing of the constitution to replace the failing Articles of confederation. He also partnered with Alexander Hamilton to write the Federalist papers. He had many accomplishments such as: directing The Philadelphia Convention towards forming a new constitution, drafting the influential Virginia plan, contributing to the Federalist papers, drafting the Constitution, drafting The Bill of Rights, co-founding the Democratic-Republican party, served as a U.S secretary, served as the fourth president of The United states, led the nation through the brutal War of 1812, and The final years of his presidency saw unprecedented prosperity …show more content…

He studied many different forms of government and wrote the Virginia plan which was practically the outline for the Constitution. He then convinced the delegation to replace instead of amend the articles. He spoke over two hundred times during the convention, and was said to be the most informed person at any point during the debate and was highly rated among fellow delegates.
After the convention each state was asked to hold a convention to determine whether or not to ratify the constitution. This led to a conflict between those who wanted it, the federalists and those who did not, the anti-federalists. Under a fake name “Publius” Madison, Alexander Hamilton, and John Jay wrote what they called the federalist papers, which was a collection of 85 articles 29 of which Madison wrote.
