Juveniles should be convicted as adults for ferocious crimes because even though they are “kids” they kill innocent people and should get punished for the crime they committed. Teenagers commit gruesome crimes like murder and knowing what they are makes the situation far worse. The 8th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution says there can not be cruel or unusual punishments, which people refer to as having kids treated as adults for crimes, even though they aren’t. In the past, there have been crimes such as murder and homicide that children have been convicted of as children even though they have committed atrocious crimes. Some people say they aren’t as knowledgeable and know better.
In our society, not only are adults committing crimes, it is now juveniles more than ever. To think about it, it is sad that more and more kids are performing such violent acts. For years now there has been a debate on whether or not juveniles now should be tried as adults for committing violent crimes. For me, I think no matter a person's age if they commit an awful crime, they should be tried as an adult. It teaches them accountability, they get what they deserve, and they are mentally mature if they do such an awful thing.
There has been many cases in which kids are committing crimes and they are being charged as adults due to how bad that crime was. Am i with that or against it ? I’m actually with it and think its okay because if you think your old enough and you were brave enough to commit that crime then deal with the consequences.
However, research has shown that children as young as 14 have the cognitive ability to understand the impact of their behavior and to take responsibility for their actions. The case of Eric Garner was also a major leading case for the use of dash cameras in the police as many of the citizens didn’t want more of the abused to happen again. There was many protest from people for a change. They wanted to see that the police were really changing their ways from their prejudice. The capacity to use the cameras in a crime scenes are reliable to use for evidence. Not only a camera allows the viewer to see the crime being done it also uncovers the manipulation that the criminal is trying to cover for his crime.
