Jandy Nelson's The Sky is Everywhere is written in a poetic style that is comprehensible yet also complex and unique. It takes place after the death of the main character, Lennie's, sister and documents her struggle to cope with grief while falling in love and dealing with the ins and outs of life as a high school student. Lennie's reactions to situations and interactions with other characters are far from perfect, but they are realistic, and her pain is felt through the pages.
