Jane uses superb wording and excellent examples in her novel Persuasion to depict some of the events in her actual life. Jane Austen is a very well educated woman from the 19th century who, even though was not allowed to write back then, did it anonymously. Her work was so good it couldn’t be ignored. When discussing charity in Austen’s work, it must be noted that Emma is remarkable and distinguishable from her other novels. It is perhaps the only text where the privileged central characters directly interact with the lower classes, and they unwittingly play a role in the frequently narrow concerns of the often socially ignorant protagonist. The author actively engages with how each character sees and uses charity- for his or her own benefit or for those in need- as a key device in character development, particularly signifying the dramatic change in Emma’s concerns after the Box Hill incident. In doing so, Austen raises current issues surrounding new conflicts between landed and non-landed gentry, displaying an innate ability and interest

Although the theme of achieving marriage is central in many of her novels, Jane Austen herself never married. Despite her unmarried state, young Austen, according to a neighbor, was a flirt: “the prettiest, silliest, most affected, husband-hunting butterfly she ever remembered” (Collins 110). Throughout her life, Austen had little trouble meeting men; her family was quite gregarious and had many acquaintances. For example, on the night of December 2, 1802, Austen was visiting Hampshire when Harris Bigg-Wither, a brother of Jane’s friend and a relatively wealthy man, proposed to her. Although Austen originally accepted the proposal, she changed her mind that night and left Hampshire abruptly.

The Effects of Society - Sense and Sensibility Jane Austen, author of the instrumental novel famously known as Sense and Sensibility, wrote with a motive to challenge and change the precedents of written work present during her era. The novel is based upon the happenings of two of the Dashwood sisters, and goes behind the scenes with the women as they seek out possible suitors to marry in a society focused on wealth and status. As the Dashwood heroines, Elinor and Marianne, encounter and build relationships, the girls experience first-hand the often times imperfect flows of life throughout the entirety of Sense and Sensibility. Her works used a more feminine tone to appeal to her readers at the same time signifying her self-consciousness. Austen’s work upheld full awareness of her consciousness, through scaled knowledge about inequalities rooting from gender and class, the challenges women of all social levels underwent, intelligence that was surfacing on women across the world, and changes in women’s role that was awakening. Unlike other authors, Austen did not explicitly expound her self-consciousness in her writings but instead introduced them indirectly through narrations (Counts 57). In Emma, for
Pride and Prejudice Jane Austen is one of the greatest novelists of English Literature. She was born in 1775 at Steventon in Hampshire, in the south of England. Her father was Reverend George Austen, who was a well-educated clergyman and who encouraged Austen both in her reading and her writing. She started writing when she was fourteen, and by her early twenties she was already working on the first versions of some of her novels. She did not write about great events, like the French Revolution or the Napoleonic Wars, both of which happened during her lifetime.
Written in 1847, Charlotte Bronte’s classic novel, Jane Eyre, was set apart from the majority of publications in its age. One might inquire, “What made Jane Eyre different?” It’s simple. Unlike most other novels during its time period, Jane Eyre valued the thoughts, activities, and life of women at the same level as men. This was virtually unprecedented, especially within literature of the bildungsroman genre.
