In the novel “Persuasion” written by Jane Austen, the storyline opens up with an introduction to the Elliot Family through Sir Walter Elliot’s favorite book, “The Baronetage.” This specific book recounts important families’ histories. As readers, we learn that the Elliots are a well respected family who reside in Kellynch-Hall located in Somersetshire. In addition, we learn that Sir Walter Elliot is a widowed father of three daughters: Elizabeth, Anne, and Mary. Out of his three children, Mary is the only one to find a husband with Charles Musgrove. Because of the living style that Sir Walter is accompanied to, he has driven the family into a great debt. Croft is Captain Wentworth. This names holds a special place in Anne’s heart due to the fact that she was once engaged with him eight years prior. Because of Lady Russell’s encouragement to do otherwise, Anne decided to break the engagement. While Mrs. Clay, Elizabeth, and Sir Walter Elliot move their belongings to Bath, Anne decides to visit her younger sister, Mary, as well as her family in Uppercross. To Anne, the Musgrove family is actually quite “picture perfect.” She enjoys the happy and supportive atmosphere. At this time in the novel, we are introduced to three additional characters, the children of Mr. and Mrs. Musgrove: Charles, Henrietta, and Louisa. It is later revealed that Captain Wentworth is on his way home back from sea and will stay with his sister as a regular visitor to Uppercross. When Anne first hears this news, she becomes extremely anxious to see him again after all of these years; however, it seems he has lost interest interest and becomes infatuated with the Musgrove children. One day, while on a trip to Lyme, a possible suitor takes an interest in Anne. This “possible suitor: just so happens to be the heir to Kellynch Hall, Mr.
