Those words have been stripped of all shades of meaning. The B vocabulary has words that have already been constructed for political purposes and are kind of verbal shorthand. All of the words are compound words such as goodthink. The C vocabulary has words that are scientific and technical words.
All the Acts have an impact on the economy; however, in my opinion, the Federal Reserve Act plays an important role than the other Acts. It is the oldest Act compared to the others without any other Act and effective. They set the federal discount rate; which enables control to the availability and stability of money and banks in good standing can borrow money at discounted rate. So the Federal Reserve is responsible for the money supply. During the recession, they can lower the interest rate to stimulate the economy, making it favorable for banks as well as individuals to borrow money.
For an example, William states in the beginning of his essay, from the popular buzzwords that everyone uses but no one really understands - "glocalization," competitive dynamics,"re-equitizing" and "empowerment" - to language that tries

Although there were some words that could still be used in Newspeak, the way they should be used have changed to make sure they do not stir up the people’s mind into greater thinking. A Newspeak dictionary contained all the vocabulary used for that purpose. There were three kinds of vocabulary which include A Vocabulary, B Vocabulary, and C Vocabulary. Each set of vocabulary was designed for specific purpose. A Vocabulary consisted of words for ordinary life, B Vocabulary was constructed for political purposes, while C Vocabulary consisted of scientific and technical terms.
Alan Greenspan speech was encouraging and realistic. In his speech he admits that some people are willing to cut corners, as stated “I do not deny that many appear to have succeeded in a material way by cutting corners and manipulating associates, both in their professional and in their personal lives.” However, he advised everyone to achieve success through honesty, constructive means, and by using fruitful and valuable resources because it will result in personal satisfaction, material success and a balanced healthy life. I agree with his speech that having integrity and a good personal reputation are important qualities in presenting a healthy characteristic and help in achieving other’s trust. I believe that not all people would always
It is the rate at which depository institutions borrow and lend from one another in the federal funds market. The FOMC’s open market operations lower the rate by increasing the reserves supplied to the economy, or alternatively, raise the rate by reducing the supply of balances. Due to a term structure of interest rates, the changes in the short-term interest rates are transmitted to the long-term interest rates since the financial markets expect the changes to persist for an extended period of time or assume that they convey information about the future monetary policy. Also, the inflation inertia ensures that the change in the federal funds rate effectively influences the real interest rate which is equivalent of the cost of borrowing. By altering the cost, federal funds rate indirectly affects the spending and investment by households and businesses, which on their turn, impact output and inflation in the economy.
The Berlin Wall was meant to relieve certain tensions between the three powers of the GDR, Soviet Union, and NATO but it quickly became a great source of it. From the day it was constructed to the day it fell, it separated families, isolated citizens of the GDR and caused death and misery throughout East Germany. When it fell in 1989, it represented a symbol of division falling for many people. It was an example of the idea of division that was infamous and tangible, and so, it became a symbol of division.
Word choice gives a better sense of what the author wants to tell his/her audience. In the narrative essay, “The F Word”, the author tells her view about America. Some of her ideas about America are positive and some of them are negative or neutral. The word choice determines whether the sentence is positive, negative, or neutral. One example of positive is “America is a great country” (Dumas).
Love. Hate. Happiness. Friendship. These words have different interpretations to everyone, but in the society presented in 1984, these words have a set definition to everyone and they are mandated to conform.
The quantitative easing is nothing but the monetary policy that is brought by the government when the standard monetary policy fails or also can be said as that the standard monetary policy has become in-effective. A national bank actualizes quantitative easing by purchasing defined measures of money related possessions from business banks and other private foundations, subsequently raising the costs of those budgetary holdings and bringing down their yield, while at the same time expanding the financial base. This is recognized from the more ordinary approach of purchasing or undercutting term government securities with a specific end goal to keep interbank premium rates at the fixed target value. Quantitative easing expands the cash supply
In order to allow a stable expansion of the economy, the Fed primarily manages the growth of bank reserves and money supply through three main tools. To implement the task of controlling the money supply, the Fed may implement a change in reserve requirements, a change in discount rate or make open-market operations.(Cloutier, n.d.) The cash reserve ratio is the percentage of reserves a commercial bank is required to hold against deposits. If regulators decide to lower the cash reserve ratio, the commercial banks will be able to lend more thus increasing the supply of money or the amount of money in the economy.
In response to "Where Words Come From," the background of a specific word, in this case cool, has opened my eyes to a topic that seemed so simple. Not only did the text help me grasp a better understanding of where words come from, but cool grew to be very significant to me because it made me realize how influential one word can be. Cool is a powerful word a lot of people seem to underestimate. This word is so influential because along with its many definitions, it is well known for meaning superior or worthy of approval and with such a strong meaning, one may try and become worthy of approval in order to gain acceptance from others. That alone is very dangerous.
Under the recessionary gap, an easy monetary policy should be exercised. In this situation, the Federal Reserve can increase the money supply by lowering the required reserve requirements, buying government securities in the open market operations, and by lowering the discount rate. To increase the money supply, the Federal Reserve has to lower interest rates through the money market. This would cause an encouragement to businesses to do more investment spending, which would shift the aggregate demand curve outwards. In other words, the Fed can increase the money supply by lowering interest rates and stimulating investment spending.
