Are American cars just as good or are the worse than Japanese cars well cars are cars right? Well they maybe cars but they do have some very big differences to save you money and help you out on the road. Some people may think that american cars are the same or just as good as any other on the market but they are wrong. Japan has some of the best technology and they put their advanced technology in their cars which always makes them number one with no sign of giving up that spot. Japan’s cities are a great example of how far Japan's technology has come and how their cars continue to improve. There was a study on which car brand was the most fuel efficient and “The result reveals that Toyota tops the most fuel-efficient cars, with General Motors and Ford Trailing behind. Of the top 10 cars included, four cars were Japanese brand (Toyota, Honda, NIssan, and Subaru), while three were American (GM and Ford).”(tan) Since gas is getting more and more expensive and gas right now is around $3.30 per gallon so saving on gas can save you a lot of money. The Toyota Prius Eco which is the most fuel economical Japanese car out on the market at this moment and it gets “57 miles per gallon in the city and 53 miles per gallon on the highway” (google) while the Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid which is the most fuel economic American car gets 49 miles per gallon in the city and 43 miles per gallon on the highway. If you go with the Japanese brand you will save yourself 5.77 dollars every time you fuel up and the Prius will last longer when it comes to fuel. It might not seem like a lot but over time the money will add up. In 2014 Chevrolet was able to get the Camaro Z/28 on the top ten most fuel consuming cars “Chevrolet Camaro Z/28” (K, Ratha). It isn’t easy getting to the top 10 most fuel consuming cars in the world it’s like they are trying to make their reputation worse. Cars that are on the same list are super cars with V10+ engines while the Camaro is only a V8. The reason the miles per gallon is so bad is because of the horsepower.
