Michelle often uses sounds to convey where she is and deduct whether or not it truly is safe to go outside. The sounds of the film are heightened in order to give to film a more unsettling and tense feeling. Invisible sounds help to create these feelings such as the creaking of the stairs, opening and closing of locks, moaning pipes, and when Michelle believes that she has heard a car above her room. The sounds are used to tell the inner story and convey Michelle’s emotions as she struggles to deal with her current situation.

You’re watching a show. The character is in a canoe floating down the river. All the sudden there is a cliff with water rushing off of it. The waters speed up and the character is getting closer to the cliff. Then the show cuts off.
Jaws has a lot of film techniques but the ones that stood out to me the most were really exciting like the eye level shot, where the woman is in the water and all you see is her face and some people swimming behind her. She appears to be pretty calm in the start but then she sees he 's sharks fin out of nowhere. The camera then points to to the shark fin. Then the eye level shot points back to her where she makes the expression that she would have if a real shark were to be there, which gives us a feel for what we would do if we were in her place.
Sound is very important in this film because of lot of sound is edited to fit in certain spots including music. During the activist movement, we can clearly hear the hurt in these people voices. Riots, shouting and clapping were all heard in most of the shots along with a voice in the background explaining exactly what is going on. Music was edited into some of the scenes to help give more of a scary or haunted approach. This essay will examine the functions and effects of cinematography in Steven Spielberg’s Jaws Jaws follows the police chief Brody, along with scientist Hooper and shark hunter Quint, in their attempt to protect the town of Amity against a Great White shark that is terrorising beachgoers. It was adapted from Peter Benchley’s 1974 novel of the same name. Following its release in summer 1975, Jaws became the highest grossing film As Jaws was one of the first motion pictures to be shot partially on water, the production came across issues with the prosthetic shark, and as a result, Spielberg decided to only suggest the appearance of the shark as often as possible, as opposed to showing the prosthetic body during attacks. This sparing use of the prosthetic, and primary focus instead on creating suspense and dread without the shark visibly present, proved to be an inspired decision, as Jaws is considered a pioneering achievement in the horror genre.

As Edward and Kim were talking there was angelic, happy music that becomes louder as Edward and Kim hug. In Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, when Charlie finds the money on the ground, Burton uses happy music to project an exciting and magical feeling to the audience. In Big Fish, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Edward Scissorhands Burton uses camera movements, camera angles, and non-diegetic music to set a certain mood that the audience should feel.
Dr. Frankenstein and the Creature are similar in more ways than one might initially realize. They both long for families, but become increasingly distant from those around them as time goes on. Frankenstein was abandoned by his mother, while the Creature was abandoned by Frankenstein. They are both impulsive, eager to learn, and have an incredibly difficult time coping with their extreme emotions.
It was not until Kate the FBI agent, found the dead body. The director and producer did a great job in even disgusting the audience with what Kate had found, dead bodies all over the house. Not only did it disgust the audience, but in my perspective it gave me the chills. Throughout the movie the music did not get any happier from there it just got darker, like if you were being observed and you did not know. Scared to life, not secured, is what the music of the film made me feel.
