BERRY’S BIG FALLACIES Fallacies are often a conceivable argument using false or invalid inference. Looking through fallacies and wanting to really find an interview where I would think that they would be easily found, I searched for a group that is somewhat known for their far out beliefs and ideas. I came across an interview done with Jeff Berry of The Ku Klux Klan and Mark Liberator. The interview took place on October 13th, 1999 over the telephone. When Berry is being questioned you can sense arrogance right off the bat. The second answer during the interview Berry pops out of his mouth is that “When the Jews came over and started controlling The United States; they too positioned themselves against The Klan.” (Liberator) Reading this the first thought that popped into my head was I am not sure when Jews came over and controlled The United States, I believe that never happened so obviously he used two fallacies in just this statement alone; one being Ad Hominem which is a personal attack on the Jews. The second being Arguing from Ignorance not only did he make up the Jews taking control but that they were the ones to go against the Klan.
