Jerry Rice Jerry Lee Rice was born on October 13, 1962, in Starkville, Mississippi. Jerry wasn’t introduced to football till high school when he was cutting classes one day and ran into an assistant principal and he ran away with such speed that it caught the football coaches eye. Rice quickly caught on to the game and became an offensive threat. His talent was enough to catch the eyes of a few college scouts and in the fall of 1981 he enrolled at Mississippi Valley State University. By the end of the college years Rice hauled in 4,692 receiving yards and collected 18 Division I-AA records. In the 1985 NFL draft, the San Francisco 49ers selected Rice with the 16th overall pick. Jerry retired with 38 NFL records to his name and some of those are including most career receptions (1,549), receiving yards (22,895) and touchdowns (197). Rice was later named a member of the NFL’s all decade teams of the 1980s and 1990s. In 2010, Rice who won three super bowl rings with the 49ers, was inducted into the pro football hall of fame. But its funny that if Jerry haven't skipped class that day and run into the vice principal he wouldn't have been able to play football ever they would have never been a Jerry Rice. Jerry was 6’2 and 200 pounds 13 time pro bowler. Jerry Rice is all around the best player in NFL history he has the most yards after the catch to he is the best wide receiver ever to play the sport to this day. He is also one of the most in fit wide receivers to ever play he physically pushed his body for 20 years non stop. Jerry has always wanted to play sports but he didn’t want to do bad so he never tried till that day he got caught running. Jerry has the most receiving yards in the whole world there is no one who has ever gotten close to beating Jerry’s rice
