Jerry Sandusky, a convicted child molester and rapist, was found guilty on 45 of 48 counts of child sexual molestation with 10 young boys which occurred over a course of fifteen years. Mr. Sandusky entered a plea of not guilty and denied any sexual motion with the victims. Alleged victims testified in court and expressed the acts Jerry Sandusky performed such as oral sex, anal sex, touching genitalia, and showering together (Candiotti & Levitt, 2012). Throughout the trial, defense lawyers attempted to claim his innocence excusing Mr. Sandusky’s actions by stating he suffered from Histrionic Personality disorder which is someone that seeks attention through inappropriate behaviors and feels an excessive need for approval (Candiotti & Levitt, 2012). Sandusky was sentenced to life and his self-identity was no longer a respected, well known football coach but now a violent sexual predator. Mr. Sandusky was a “leading charitable figure, who spent much of his time helping at-risk boys through The Second Mile Foundation” (Klein, Tolson, & Longo, 2013, 19). Through self-promotion, Mr. Sandusky was a respective, authoritative figure to all because of his status as a college football coach at Penn State and willingness to help young boys that did not have a father figure. Mr. Sandusky met his victims at The Second Mile and committed sexual acts with these boys in Penn State’s locker room, and other places such as hotel rooms and his home (Candiotti & Levitt, 2012). Indications show that Mr. Sandusky used his title as a hero and used his charity to target and violate innocent boys (Wetzel,2012). Despite Mr. Sandusky’s well known reputation, his consistent behavior of narcissism illustrates an exact representation of a sexually abusive, child
