The birth of Jesse James took place on September 5,1847 (britanica.com). Jesse was one of the most infamous criminals of all time. Jesse had an older brother named Alexander Franklyn James born on January 10,1843. Jesse and Frank James were born and raised on a Missouri farm. In 1861 when Jessie was only 13 years old the Civil War began, and Frank joined a Missouri militia company. When Jesse came of age, he joined Bill Andersons band of Guerrilla soldiers.
