As Jackie Robinson once said “A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives”. There is no doubt that Jackie Robinson has been one of most impactful baseball players to ever play the sport. For reasons such as pushing himself to reach his goals, facing many hardships, and being the first African American to play in the MLB, he has shown perseverance and been a role model to everyone. The first reason how Jackie Robinson has impacted society is how he worked hard to reach his goals.
Jackie Robinson not only made impacts on the field that were monumental, but he made impacts off the field that were equally as important. Jackie helped presidents get elected, get kids off the streets and into the most prestigious schools there is, and most importantly he broke the black color barrier in baseball. Jackie Robinson is one of the most influential people to ever live, he did things that people would dream about, he stood up for what he believed. To begin, Jackie’s biggest accomplishment was breaking the black color barrier on baseball, “ Jackie Robinson broke through the color barrier that kept blacks out of the Major League Baseball [MLB].
Owens expected to have at least a telegram from FDR and he didnt even get that so his views were probably that he expected something to change as well but when it didn’t he didn’t dwell and become bitter, He accepted it for what it was and did not let it rule his life. He might argue that he used the games to show that blacks are not inferior to whites. He used it for the better good of the world. He wanted society 's view to change on the way they perceived black athletes. He could probably say he didn’t do it for political aspects but for his people, for other athletes who didn’t think that they could do what he did because they were a minority but he changed it for them who continued to do better for themselves.

Many people know that Jackie Robinson was a baseball player, but he was so much more. As a well known baseball player, Jackie Robinson showed pro sports that it is all right to have a black person play. He broke the professional baseball color barrier.
Not just in sports, but in the Civil Rights Movement as a whole. During Jackie’s prime, “people began to view him as a spokesman for other African-Americans. He was an outspoken activist for African-Americans’ rights. He participated in many protests for fair wages and workers’ rights.” (Santella)
Douglass was more educated than any other black man of his time, simply due to the fact that it was illegal for colored men to learn to read. Yet, Douglass’s rise to popularity was unprecedented. He orated on a circuit to small groups of abolitionists, and eventually rose to be an advisor to President Lincoln during the Civil War. All this from a former runaway slave. During the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 60s, Dr. King Jr. used a page out of Douglass’s book, but this time, he had the previous black protestors to refer to.

If he did not accept the discrimination in the manner that he did, then the sports would have rejected all colored people because they were perceived as temperamental fighters who couldn’t hold their anger in. He overcame many racial stereotypes by going to the Olympics and becoming the first African American track star. Before Owens went to the Olympics, many large organizations such as the AAU and NAACP suggested not competing and boycotting it. They said this because it was opened by Adolf Hitler, and they didn't want anything bad to happen to Owens from Hitler’s controversial beliefs. Jesse Owens decided that he would compete anyways. He wanted to stand up for athletes who had been denied the opportunity to participate in sporting events previously due to their skin color.

He was very passionate about his progression of nonviolent protesting and raised plenty awareness towards the media of racial inequalities eventually working towards a significant change that would change the world forever. Martin Luther King Jr. positively affected the world by becoming the leader of the civil rights movement and bringing racial acceptance to the U.S. through nonviolent protest. King was very inspired by India’s revolutionary civil rights leader, Gandhi.
