Jesse Owens Biggest Accomplishments Jesse Owens once said, “We all have dreams but in order to make dreams come into reality it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self discipline, and effort.¨ Jesse owens worked hard all his life and achieved many great things by doing this. Jesse Owens was born in 1913 and the youngest of 10 children. As a boy he went to school and worked, in school it was the first time somebody noticed his talent. In high school he ran fast and broke world records and in 1936 he went to the Berlin Olympics. But what were Jesse Owens biggest accomplishments? When Jesse Owens ran he was known as the fastest person on earth and his world records stood for at least 20 years. People said, “Jesse Owens stood there shivering in the cold. But at the firing gun he ran as though gliding through the warmth of the equilateral sunshine¨ (Perry 3). He was a fast runner and was exerting himself, he was able to jump 25 feet and 10 inches and he ¨ … sat down and waited for somebody to beat his mark. Nobody did and [Jesse] Owens called it a day¨. He had great deal of talent for running and had a heap of fans all around the world who wanted to be like him and be able to run as fast as him. Jesse Owens second biggest accomplishment was setting a 3 world record and tying 1 in a day. He had a crowd of 10,000 people that showed up to the track meet and even though he had an aching back he ¨took his mind off his ache and enabled him to put on the greatest one-man, one-day performance the sport had ever known¨ ( Wilson and Brondfield 1). He was only in college at that time and it was only a college meet but he decided to work hard at that hard work was what was able to get him into the 1936 Berlin
