They aren't very serious, but they are still life impacting. OCD is a disorder of when someone has to do something more than once, like locking a door, or turning off a light. Anxiety disorder is when you get very anxious around things that make you feel uncomfortable. ADHD is when you can’t sit still, or can’t stop doing something. ADHD is a perfect disorder for Jessica, because she is always running around, whether it’s on a movie set, or a photo shoot. All of those can be difficult to overcome, but she has overcome them all in great ways. Jessica has overcome her disabilities and is a great role model to many. That is because she uses acting, modeling, and yoga to cope. She has been a great role model for her children, and other kids everywhere. She shows that even if you have a disease, or disability, don't stop doing what you love. You might achieve that dream if you don’t give up. Jessica Alba is in many movies, and magazines. She just doesn't want her readers to see her as a handicap person, but a person who wants the world to see her as a tough woman. One whom the fates, gods, viruses have not been kind, but who can face the brutal truth of her disabilities.

When you think of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you think of Iron Man, Captain America, and the test of the Avengers gang, but you hear the name Jessica Jones and scratch your head. To be honest, I had no idea who the character was when I first hear about the series coming out on Netflix. I had just started watching Daredevil when I heard that the show would be part of 3 other shows that would culminate in a mini-series event called The Defenders. What I knew after watching Daredevil was that this part of the MCU will be a lot darker. Where the movies are a bit lighter, the small screen versions on Netflix weren 't going to be that way.
People with disabilities are often viewed as less capable, less intelligent and not available to cope well in society. Mairs uses the different persuasive strategies such as ethos, logos and pathos to create a conscious awareness to build a world in which despite the differences everyone is treated with equality and dignity. She imagines her body as something other than problematic, but a reason to fight to build a world in which people wants her in. Mairs mentions in page 169 “I imagine a world where people, allowed the space to accept- admit, endure, embrace- their diverse and often difficult realities.” As Robert M Hensel, a famous Guinness world champion and a man with spina bifida said once “There is no greater disability in society, than the inability to see a person as
I thought about how I see her as a normal person, but unfortunately other people do not see her like that. Other people have not had the experience that I have had with people who have special needs. Which is why, I think, the people who insult someone by using the r-word believe it is acceptable to use it. They have never been accustomed to people with disabilities and because they act differently, those who insult believes it is hilarious to compare someone who made a silly mistake to a person who has a mental or physical

Even though she was born a poor African American, she worked her way up in life and kept on making a difference in the world even once she was ill. Unlike many other minorities who often focus on feeling bad for themselves and angry at those who have more, Barbara Jordan took one step at a time and put one foot in front of another. I admire how even when she did not win an election she did not give up and tried again and again until she succeeded. She won many awards for her accomplishments. Jordan said “Education remains the key to both economic and political empowerment.”
She is an inspiration to others in this world and she is still doing things to keep getting further in life. Dana Elaine Owens Aka “Queen Latifah” was born on March 18, 1970. It is something I didn’t and I’m sure a lot of people don’t know much of, like the author points out. It didn’t surprise me because with her overcoming what she did it makes sense that she would want to help and be sympathetic towards others with handicaps, especially those becoming handicap because of the class they are in. I feel like the answer to why her adult life isn’t in public memory is answered in the reading when it says, “her conversion to socialism caused a new storm of publicity – this time outraged” (Loewen 14). The public, and I’m sure the government, didn’t like that she became a socialist.
