So, on the 12th of May 2008 when Edward Richardson, 41, of Mayfield Road, Biddulph was found guilty of stabbing his wife, Sarah Richardson, a hairdresser of age 26 just because she changed her Facebook status to single. It was said that he sought out Sarah in her parents’ home in which he broke into and entered the property. He brutally stabbed her to death and then attempted to take his own life. He was sent to the hospital and later arrested. The confusing part was that the couple had already split up. Her parents and friends described her as “the light of their life”. Not forgetting this couple, a man called Brian Lewis, lost his job and his wife Hayley Jones got a job as a caretaker and she started to ‘expand’ her social horizons. She started spending so much time on Facebook and was keeping it secretive. That angered him so it made their relationship go down the drain. Hayley made it clear their relationship was over and she changed her Facebook status to ‘single’ on the 2nd of March. Just over a week later she was killed.
