Fugate, an innocent child, and Starkweather, a legal adult, sent the Midwest into panic as their murders were sporadic and vicious. The two had no pattern to their killings, and their capture led to some questions. The questions that arose following the arrest of Fugate and Starkweather still arise in controversy today.
Three-time Olympic champion Gail Devers once said, “Sometimes we fall, sometimes we stumble, but we can’t stay down. We can’t allow life to beat us down. Everything happens for a reason, and it builds character in us, and it tells us what we are about and how strong we really are when we didn’t think we could be that strong.” In the biography Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand, Devers ' words illustrate the sturdy determination of Louis Zamperini, which carried him through everything from his track career and time as a prisoner of war in Japan, to his life after World War II had ended. Mary Mcleod Bethune’s life began in the same circumstances as many colored people during The Era Of Reconstruction. Bethune’s family was no exception to the entrapment that the withholding of civil rights caused. Bethune’s early realization that literacy could be used as a tool to potentially break and end the vicious cycle of degradation that occurred vapidly in her time would result in the founding of an amazing learning institute and years of service towards the cause of civil rights, her message of working for one’s self and compassion is still as powerful today as it was nearly a hundred years ago. Bethune was the only member in her family to attend school, a luxury for a child with sixteen other siblings. Bethune’s simple but poignant

Betsy DeVos is our new secretary of Education. That statement right there scares me. Prior to becoming the secretary of education, Betsy was known as a business woman, a philanthropist, a politician, and an activist. Nowhere in that sentence did I mention a teacher of public schools, and therefore Betsy DeVos is not fit for the title of secretary of education. She does not qualify because she has no experience in public education system, investment in low education systems, and no knowledge about the Individual with Disabilities Education Act.

At the same time the poem relates back to a man’s undying love for his wife in which even death is unable to hinder. From the beginning of the poem, I realized Poe to be an articulate person who has a beautiful way with words, as he describes the origin of his love story between himself and Annabel Lee. This was shown in Stanza 1 where I identified him to be a kind and doting person, as he continues to talk about a maiden from the kingdom by the sea whom only wished to love and be loved by Poe. As this was written by Poe and shown from
