It’s Thursday night; you are standing on a corner, in front of you a 3 story house with windows where you can see in, a wraparound porch, and steps leading up to a glass door to lead you inside. Ladies of different ages gather bibles in hand. You decide to step through the door and are greeted not as a stranger but familiar. They introduce themselves; you realize they are from different churches, jobs, and roads of life. As you hear each ones testimony you see intersections where each crosses with another. Intersections appear on your own road that crosses, as well. You have just encountered the Jesus girls. This is not just an encounter for one day a week. The Lord has given me a place and sisterhood in the Jesus girls. It has lead me to listening to KLOVE each day; in turn leading me to Colorado Christian University. Had I not taken that step through the door I would still be wondering lost trying to get back to God. Would have missed KLOVE playing “Touch the Sky”; a song that along with Psalm 139 has given me sight to just how much God loves me. Wouldn’t have heard about this school, felt the Holy Spirits nudge to register, or to walk through this new door to a future where I finally receive a degree. In a place that can continue to build up my spiritual road at that. Amen thank you Lord! The influence on me academically has already begun just in those steps. Being a part of the Jesus girls will continue to influence me academically because any time I feel stuck, overwhelmed, low on energy, or low on time I can call on Jesus and lean on them. Influencing my goals to see things through to the finish and to find in CCU a larger community of what I have found in the Jesus
