Every prominent figure is known for their unique set of abilities, whether it is their ability to act, sing, produce, play a sport, model, etc. However, looking through that facade can either reveal an ethereal soul, or a chamber of ominous secrets. In this case, two notable figures, Richard Wagner and Michael Jackson, both held a number of offenses that would ultimately be deemed immoral by many. What mainly separates Wagner and Jackson from the regular, working class citizens is their fame. One might assume that because of Wagner and Jackson’s fame, people may choose to overlook the unethical actions committed because of their prodigious talent. Richard Wagner was a German composer whose life was lived during the 1800s. Wagner wrote several articles and operas, which helped him become well known. Aside from his articles and operas, Wagner was also known for his anti-Semitism. In the beginning, Wagner’s career showed little promise of advancement. Due to this, Wagner blamed other Jewish composers, creating the onset of envy towards those Jewish composers. One of Wagner’s first essays were considered to be highly controversial. Their work is not a reflection of their indecent actions. Looking in a different perspective, their work may have influenced some hopeful souls to pursue their dreams as a composer or as a musician. In addition, their work has had a big impact on the society surrounding them. No one is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes, both big and small.
