Introduction: Have you ever been so abominated that people make racist remarks at you? Well, Jackie Robinson was. Jackie Robinson was a baseball player for the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1947-1956, but he wasn't an average baseball player, he was an Activist, Philanthropist, and most importantly the first black player in the MLB. As Jackie went throughout his career he was despised and loved, fans would chant his name but others would throw things at him and call him racial slurs just because he was attempting to integrate baseball. In early 2002, only a few months after September 11th, a Wall Street Journal reporter named Daniel Pearl was kidnapped by the terrorists in Pakistan. Across the country Americans, from family members to everyday citizens, were all hoping for his release however it was not so and on February 1, 2002, Daniel Pearl was murdered by his kidnappers. This was an enormous loss for not only his wife and newborn son but also the nation who were all praying for his release. Ever since that fateful day Daniel Pearl has become synonymous to acceptance and a man who wanted to bridge cultures together. Daniel’s level of compassion for others and their culture set a model for all those around him and something this world needs more of.

Kennedy was in Indianapolis for a campaign stop, when he received news that Martin Luther King was killed, causing Kennedy to write and deliver a speech regarding the assassination. This speech was succinct but not only was it about the assassination, it was also to tell the people there is still wisdom and hope in this time of turmoil. One of the rhetorical choices he used was repetition. Throughout the speech he repeated the same phrase "We choose to go to the moon" multiple times, showing how important it is of that goal and showing the amount of determination. He also made it clear that space exploration was a choice and one that required effort. Kennedy also used a metaphor as a rhetorical choice.
