The first man on the moon
On July 20, 1969, at 20:18 UTC Apollo 11 officially became the first space shuttle to land humans on the moon.

On the 25th may 1961 president Kennedy expressed a concern that America was falling behind the Soviet Union in technology and set them a challenge, put a man on the moon before the end of the decade.
On July 16th 1969 Apollo 11 was launched from the Kennedy space center under the watch full eye of thousand of NASA workers.
Objectives and aims
The objective of Apollo 11 was
“Perform a crewed lunar landing and return to Earth.” This was an aim set by J.F. Kennedy, the president of the United States at the time. The type of expedition was an exploration and a race against countries to show their strength. The expedition took the …show more content…

Due to space being like a vacuum if their space suites didn’t fit them properly then they risk exploding due to the pressure in space being non-existent.
Physical Challenges
They faced many physical challenges one of these was the fact that they were away from their families for the 8-day duration of the expedition not knowing if they will return home alive or not. In an interview with Neil Armstrong he explained that the most difficult part of the trip was the landing.
“The landing itself was far and away the most difficult. Even if there were no malfunctions or other technical problems—an unlikely scenario—the descent would test the abilities of the entire Apollo team, Mission Control, as much as the astronauts themselves. In just 12 minutes, Armstrong and co-pilot Buzz Aldrin had to bring their lunar module Eagle from a height of 50,000 feet, orbiting at a speed of several thousand miles per hour, down to the surface in what amounted to a controlled fall.”
