On an important day in 1961, John F. Kennedy delivered a speech to the people all over the US and around the world that still gets quoted today. He made this speech to unite and make everyone come together. In his speech he used various examples of ethos, pathos and logos that really helped the speech and people come together. He as president would write the speeches himself and wouldn’t let others write it for him and is praised by many people because of that. John F. Kennedy didn’t use a lot of ethos but the ones he used were very good because it got the point across clearly. He used ethos to make American people take his side. “The belief that the rights of man come not from the generosity of the state, but from the hand of god” (J.F.K.) In his speech he says “If a free society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich” (J.F.K.). This shows that he doesn’t care if you are rich or poor he wants to either help everyone or help nobody. That is a very strong quote because if you can only help the rich that’s not fair to the poor and vise versa. He uses another form of logos to he says “We shall not always expect to find them supporting our view. But we shall always hope to find them strongly supporting their own freedom” (Kennedy). This tells us that even though you might not agree with him he supports your point of view so it’s harder to argue with someone who agrees with you because everyone agrees they want
