Job Shadowing Reflection

Junior year first semester,I have grown as a Glpo student by introducing myself to new learning environments. I have taken the step of challenging myself by taking advance classes during and after school. Furthermore I’ve have been able to to grow through my my American literature job shadow and college research assignment in various ways. This semester so far has allowed me to gain a new perspective on how life after high school works and learn the skills I need to succeed. I have grown through my American Literature job shadow and my college research research that allowed me to take a huge step forward In preparing for college.

My job shadow project required me to narrow down my choices to three different choices. When I was looking for a career to do the assignment on, I realized that I don't know what career I would like to pursue once I go to college. After getting suggestions by other students, I did further research on careers such as psychology, Family therapist and auto mechanic.I now know some of the required courses …show more content…

This project consisted of me researching a job and building my networking skills to gain a host to show me what it takes to work in a certain career. To acquire the host I wrote several letters to different places so assure my appointment. One might say this experience was very similar to looking for an actual job because I needed to keep trying different places and not giving up.I found myself job shadowing an auto mechanic, Rod Emory, an auto mechanic/businessman who ran his own company. He is very known for his style of cars he creates and has a very successful company. He taught me a lot about how to make money off cars and how to bring customers to you and beat the competition. Furthermore he taught how to run a business and even told me one of his personal business secrets. I was able to learn the perspective of a business owner through job shadowing
