One of the stories is that the Jews were becoming to outnumber the Egyptians and out of fear of takeover, the Pharaoh ordered all newly-born Hebrew males murdered by throwing them into the Nile to be eaten by the crocodiles. Another story is that the Pharaoh’s astrologers told him that an Israelite male child would grow up to overthrow Pharaoh, Pharaoh decided to kill all the male children born to the Israelites. At the time Jochebed was pregnant with her third child; there is no known documentation, like Mary’s immaculate conception with Jesus, that she was told by an angel or prophet, that her child would be great. She would give birth to him when Miriam, her eldest is about ten years old and Aaron is little more than a toddler. Jockeyed is said to have hid Moses for nearly three (3) months before she decided to put him in a basket in the crocodile infested Nile.
