Matthew Dunn is a 23-year-old male who has been sentenced to 7 years in federal prison for an armed robbery of a downtown convenience store. Yesterday, Sloan Jackson, age 18 was put on trial for stealing a shirt from Famous Fashions in Merchandise Mall. He supposedly ran out of the store with a lump (which was the same color as the stolen shirt) in his jacket to go to Record Mart because there was a big sale going on. He then was found sitting next to the yogurt stand and the shirt was found in a trash barrel near the yogurt stand. He then ran away from the security guard but he was in the end caught and brought back to the store to return the shirt. At the trial yesterday the jury came to a verdict of being guilty after talking in the jury room for about 10 minutes.

Jazz has been an influential part of American History since the twentieth century. Jazz was influence prominently by African Americans around 1917. Roger Kamien and Anita Kamien authors of the book Music Appreciation states, “Jazz can be described generally as music rooted in improvisation and characterized by syncopated rhythm, a steady beat, and distinctive tone colors and performance techniques” (Kamien) Within jazz, there are different styles which vary upon location or where they originated in. November 8th 2016 brought to close one of the most divisive elections in Presidential History. Most Americans see this obvious divide that exist in America at the current moment. Differences among race, gender, religion, political views, experiences, privilege, age are just the starting point to the split that has turned neighbors against each other, friends into enemies, and torn families apart. Its an understatement to say that tensions are high, and wounds are fresh. This countries divide was always going to be a ticking time bomb, and on election day 2016 we saw that bomb explode.
