John Brown, the ¬¬¬terrorist from the lovely town of Torrington, Connecticut. Terrorist, a word that many people fear that describes a human that is out to cause terror is the lives of people. Although John Brown might not have thought of himself as a terrorist and instead a hero, he cause much damage not just physically but also he disturbed the minds of many. All of his intentions were positive in trying to stop slavery from happening in the south, but the way that he had to express his hatred for slavery and trying to save them could have been a lot nicer and not as rough. The south all believe that John Brown was not at all the best person because of all the actions that he has caused in the south, but the north almost praises John Brown because he was one of the many starts to the Civil War to help end the cause …show more content…

The north would praise him because what he had done to start everything and try to end the terrible parts of slavery. People though John Brown was one person that actually tried to start a change, so they wrote a song about him. However, this song had not gotten popular until it was played during the Civil War by the Union. This song is called “John Brown’s Body”, it was written to celebrate the legacy of John Brown after his execution. To sum up the song it practically is saying that his life was a good one and he is marching the Union troops up above and is cheering on the Union. Now the only reason that the Union believes that what John Brown has done was great because he technically did not fail, he was successful. Frederick Douglas after the war even says that John Brown was the man that really helped start the war to help end American slavery and made a free nation. Just because Brown might have had many great outcomes of his raid on Harper’s Ferry, but no one can take away the terror that was caused with him trying to make this country
