Did you know that one of the most respected and loved presidents’ best school grade was a B (Schlesinger, 42)? Or that he spent most of his childhood suffering from various sicknesses and ailments (jfklibrary.org “John”)? Everyone leaves a legacy, but not all stand the test of time. To be able to have a solid image over the years, you also need to be a leader. John F. Kennedy stood as an innovative and strengthening president and left an inspiring legacy of a life well lived.
As the TV was born, so was a leader. John F. Kennedy, nicknamed Jack, was born on May 29 1917 (Bio.com, History.com, Whitehouse.gov). He was born into a family of power and wealth. The people referred to the Kennedy family as the metaphorical royal family of America. All of the Kennedy family’s children grew up to play a large part in history, most notably JFK. Kennedy brought new, revolutionary ideas and insight to the United States of America. Why was this? There are many different theories and ideas on why, but one thing that almost all agree on is that one of the factors in his ideas was his youth (Jeffery, Shmoop, Warren)As the masses grow older, they admit that, slowly, their ideas and innovations left them. The older you are, the less and less innovative ideas come to you. JFK was young. His family was years, instead of decades old. He was still brimming with ways that this country could become all the better. He trusted himself with the advancement of America. “Those who dare to fail miserably can achieve greatly”-John F. Kennedy (Kennedy, John F. Inaugural). Other people, though, needed to earn his trust, and that was not always the easiest thing to do. He was skeptical. The CIA tricked him early on into his presidency during the Bay of Pigs, and he learned quickly to not give out trust like flyers. He was not fooled with just a business suit and a big name. He challenged anyone who came to him with information, even the CIA and General Administration
