John Fitzgerald Kennedy was born on May 29, 1917 in Brookline, Massachusetts. He was the second child of Joseph Kennedy Sr. and Rose Kennedy. Childhood in the Kennedy household was largely influence of John’s father. At the time of his birth the United States had entered World War 1. He first attended the Dexter school in Brookline. In the fourth to sixth grade he attended the Riverdale Country Day School in New York. From 1931 he attended the Choate Academy he was an average student. Although He ranked sixty-two out of one hundred twelve. He had been frequently ill while at Choate after deciding to attend Princeton rather the follow his elder brother and dad to Harvard. He had his freshman year cut short by jaundice. After taking the spring of 1936 off from school. He changed his mind and went to Harvard after all. He enrolled in the fall of 1936.
