John Locke was a physician and philosopher known as the “Father of Classical Liberalism” who was born on August 29, 1632 A.D, in Wrington. John Locke disagreed with the divine rights of kings, that claim that they ruled by the authority of god. He wrote that the power of government came from people, not from god or from a ruler. He believed that people gave their consent to be governed, and in return, the government was bound to protect what he called the people’s natural rights.
