In current days, the significance of philosophy is very crucial and fundamental. The greatest aspect of philosophy is that unlike other subjects, it can be enforced upon every aspect of life. Among many philosophers, John Locke stands out as very significant due to his contribution to the very origin of the United States. In his political philosophy, “Two Treatises of Government”, John Locke stated the importance of government with the argument that “Political society existed for the sake of protecting life, liberty and estate” (Peters). The theory was later adapted by Thomas Jefferson in the Declaration of Independence, which later became a well-known statement “"Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness" (Declaration of Independence).

Locke believed that all men are created equal, and all parts of human body belong to the person himself, therefore any product of our physical labor must belong to us. At this time of age, such statement would be well received by many. From the perspective of a common person, John Locke makes absolute sense that anything produced by an individual should belong to the person. Such statement highlights Locke's trust and belief in the goodness of human beings, which can be praised but also criticized because all human beings don't have the same social and moral standards (The constitution on full bloom).
