If you denounce your clean name to witchcraft, you life could never return to what was originally. Because if you confessed who would you turn on and essentially send to their grave unless they confessed. Proctor would never give up his clean name, he could have kept his wife from the gallows and returned to his sons. But he was honest and truthful as a baby born the day before, deciding it better to show Salem faith in God and living a fruitfully truthful life. If the devil wanted to spread throughout Salem surely he would keep his pupils from heaven by confessing to the devil. He should surely prefer his pupils to stay on this earth and continue his devilish work. This is insanity everything’s contradictory, all I ask is you clear Proctors name, ask any man and ask him whether raising a son under Gods name is of the utmost importance? You might be asking yourselves why he would leave his sons fatherless and motherless for the rest of their lives over a signature upon the church
