John Quincy Adams, a patriot and a loyal Politian to the United States congress, was born in Braintree, Massachusetts on July 11, 1767. As a kid he grew up under the authority of his famous father John Adams and his mother Abigail Adams. As a lad he watched the gruesome Battle of Bunker Hill from the porch of his own house. With the high expectations the community held on the Adams family intelligence was a very important trait to his family. His parents wanted their sons and daughters to have the highest education possible so as a result he was sent to schools in Paris, France and in Amsterdam. When he was only twenty-six years old he was appointed as a minister to the Netherlands. Then 1802 rolled around and he was elected in to the United States Senate, and was a United States senator from 1803 to 1808. Only a few years later he was then appointed by President Madison to be the minister of Prussia. John would also become a minister to Holland and to the United Kingdom. Not only was Mr. Adams a Senator and a Minster for four countries, he also was the Chief Negotiator of the Treaty in Ghent in 1814. John Quincy Adams has also gone down in history as one of the best Secretaries of State in history for the United States government. Mr. Adams only served one term as president and didn’t do much. Although as president he was not a lazy. He proposed a progressive national program, created federal funding for interstates, canals, and created a national university.
