John Quincy Adams was not an advocate for slavery. He fought for the freedom of the Africans that were brought over on the Amistad. In order to free them, John Quincy Adams had to work closely with Roger Williams and Cinque, like we saw in the movie. He deeply cared about the lives and well-being of the Africans. To make an influence in these people’s lives he gave a speech in front of the supreme court. John Quincy Adams succeeded in his quest to save the lives of the Africans and they were able to return to their homeland. Without Adams, the Africans may not have been able to return home.
