A pharmacist named John S. Pemberton created Coca Cola the famous drink known worldwide. Coca Cola hit the markets and is one of the top drinks on the map. It's one of the most popular drinks there is. People love the delicious mouth watering taste of Coca Cola. John Stith Pemberton was born on July 08th, 1831 in Knoxville, Georgia. He studied at a local medical school in Georgia and became a licensed pharmacist at the age of nineteen. He had a wife named Ann Eliza Clifford Lewis who gave birth to their first son in 1853. He also had a successful drug business before he got drafted into to army during the American Civil War. Back then they used to use morphine to lighten up the pain on wounds and injuries. John became addicted to morphine. Since he was a pharmacist he decided he was going to make his own cure for his addiction. The first invention he created was a formula called “Pemebertons French Wine of Coca”. The ingredients included French Bordeaux, wine, cocaine, and caffeine from kola nuts. …show more content…

He didn’t even think of the name his bookkeeper, Frank Robinson thought of it. Frank helped John get Coca Cola on the market. He was a penmanship; he published letters and made the logos of Coca Cola that’s famous today. The first place Coca Cola was ever sold was Jacob’s Pharmacy in Atlanta. They sold almost ten servings a day. `In 1887 another Atlanta pharmacist bought the Coca Cola formula from John for almost two and half thousand dollars.
