So, on an ordinary day in Jerusalem, all the apostles were together in a house, along with other followers of Jesus, when the Holy Spirit came to them in tongues of fire. John and everyone else in the room received the Holy Spirit.
At that instant, all the apostles received the ability to heal the sick, cast out demons, and the ability to speak multiple languages, as Peter demonstrated in Acts chapter two.
