John Wayne Gacy was born on March 17, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois as the middle child. His mother was a stay-at-home wife while his father was constantly working. When his father wasn’t working, he would drink and become aggressive toward his daughter and wife. As the only male in the household, Gacy would take beatings to defend his mother and sisters. At 7 years old, he was sexually abused by his dad's friend for months. That same year, he molested a girl with his friend during school. By 11 years old, his father beat him so badly that he blacked out and since then he would have fainting spells. Gacy’s teenage years were spent in the hospital due to a burst appendix and his congenital heart defect which prevented him from exercising.

About 4 days after his parole ended, he attempted to sexually assault another boy and the kid told the police. Since the boy didn’t show up to trial, the case was dropped. Gacy assaulted another boy and the kid tried blackmailing him but it backfired on him. For unknown reasons, the Parole board wasn’t aware of these cases and decided to wipe his criminal history. He moves with his mother to another house. His first kill victim was stabbed and was hidden in the house crawl space. Since his first known victim, Gacy goes on to kill a total of 33 young men. He would rape torture and then strangle his victims and would throw bury them in his crawl space. The typical victims he had were young boys and men that were in need of a job, home, or money. He had also started a new “method” in which he would torture rape and then drop them at a nearby park. The last victim that causes him to get caught was 15-year-old Robert Priest. He was lured with a possible job offer and followed Gacy home. Due to the many witnesses, the police were led to Gacy’s home and found a receipt from Priests Job. Gacy was put on surveillance and after a week he fell apart. On December 20th, Gacy got drunk, went to his lawyer, and confessed. In the next two days, he was arrested and police got a full house warrant to search the house. By March of 1980, Gacy was convicted of 33 murders in which he was found guilty.
