We can all come to an agreement that serial killers are both horrendous and unpredictable human beings. Most acts of violence we hear about are committed by serial killers. Unsatisfied with their previous actions, serials killers look to execute more victims. In most cases, the upbringing of the individual plays a huge role on the killer. Because of their twisted techniques and motives, some of these killers are infamously known to be the most frightening criminals in history. The most prolific and infamous serial killer of all time is John Wayne Gacy. Gacy was convicted of torture and for the murders of 33 males between 1972 until his arrest in 1978. Gacy was nick named the “killer clown” because he was working as an entertainer at kids parties as “pogo the clown”. It is possible that there was misplaced anger for his father, which caused him to target on adolescent boys. Since he was abused by his father so much as a child, he knew the weaknesses and vulnerability of his targets, and used that towards his advantage. He was obsessed to be the man his father wanted him to be. On his path on doing so, he became one of history’s prolific serial killers. It can also be determined that he killed younger boys because he was ashamed of his sexuality. Even though his wife discovered his stash of gay pornography, this could have been a part of him trying to accept who he really was.
