John Wayne Gacy was, in my opinion, by far the most twisted and sinister serial killer in American History. He was a prominent businessman in Cook County, Illinois, in a suburb of Chicago. His victims were all his lovers, and he killed to cover his homosexuality and to satisfy his sadistic need on top of his need for control. Gacy had an abusive and alcoholic father, who abused his mother as well as his older and younger siblings, 3 kids in total. John was a portly child who was not athletic and did not blend well into the social scene in his school life. He had a childhood experience of theft and his father would physically and mentally abuse him as a form of discipline for his infractions. Although his mother attempted to protect him, his father would just use these actions as a fuel to be more abusive and incorporate her actions into a way to demean John during his beatings. …show more content…

He had begun to show signs of sexual deviancy prior to his crimes of murder. While he was working as an attendant in a morgue in Nevada, he found himself lying in a coffin with a young man when no one was looking. This was one example of the many actions of sexual deviancy that was participated in prior to his murder spree. He had shown signs of sexual deviancy from his first marriage. John attended swingers parties, indulge in sex with prostitutes and began to manipulate young, teenage boys sexually. He was sent to prison as a result of his actions. He was charged with sodomy and his wife divorced him immediately. This was the first action of his sadistic and criminal inclination to abuse young boys for his own sexual
