Its sad to see the teenagers and kids this generation believe that just because they don't have nice things, a nice house, or a lot of money that they won't be able to become famous or have a well paying job. Depp is like a character in the book Marigold. The main character's name was Elizabeth. Johnny Depp is a good comparison of her because he went through some rough times, from moving all the time to drugs and addictions and even a depression. Lizabeth was living in Maryland at the time of the great depression. She describes her town as “brown and dusty.” Lizabeth didn't have the best childhood either, she lived poorly with her family, but still managed. Lizabeth had people in her life that tried to bring happiness and color to the world. Like Miss. Lottie planting marigolds in her garden that brightened up their community. Johnny Depp had friends that tried to get him to put himself together and helped him out on his acting career to get it going. They cared enough for him to help him be successful. Even though Lizabeth had a poor family and a poor community, she finally realized that she could bring joy and change things. Lizabeth ended up planting marigolds of her own because of her hard life. Same with Johnny, he may have had a rough time growing up, none of that stopped Johnny Depp from pushing forward and doing what he
