I like how you have briefly explained the importance of nursing structure, process, and outcomes to an ideal work environment and to an optimal health care delivery. Therefore, these three elements are very essential to delivering an optimal nursing care. These elements may also be linked to the nurses’ working environment.
Evidenced-based practice is also a competency in the model. Nurse Cantrell demonstrated K2, S2b, and A2b. She uses research and evidenced-base practice to inform her clinical decisions. She is a part of continuing education courses with research components and individually researches issues that arise in patient care. Regularly she bases care off of researched best practices.

Congested heart failure (CHF) is one of the leading causes of death in the United States (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2015). There have been research studies conducted to provide evidence-based practice in decreasing the effects of CHF. There is evidence that links exercise, diet, and education as key factors that decreases mortality and morbidity in patients with CHF. All healthcare settings can utilize and implement evidence-based practice when caring for patients with CHF. Nurses should promote education about CHF and the benefits of regular exercise and diet (Smart, 2010).
Evidence based is been used widely in nursing practice, which involves integration of a problem solving approach within the framework that concerning care, using the best evidence from research, knowledge and proficiency from clinical together with patients’ beliefs and values. It’s a challenge for nurses to stay current with evidence based practices. I too receive emails frequently but I rarely have the time to read them due to my workload. I work on a very busy inpatient floor and I rarely have time to eat and use the restroom. I’m sure other nurses lack time at their workplaces to search and read research articles.
