The two Evidence Based Practice models that I decided to compare are the Johns Hopkins Nursing model and the ACE Star model. The Johns Hopkins Nursing model “helps bedside nurses translate evidence to clinical, administrative, and educational nursing practice” ( p. 302). The Johns Hopkins Nursing model focuses on nursing and nursing practice. The model helps nurses translate evidence-based practice into practice and enhances nursing autonomy, leadership, and engagement with interdisciplinary colleagues (). While on the other hand the ACE Star model focuses taking several forms of knowledge and turning it into evidence-based practice. The reason that I am interested in this model because I have never heard of it before and I love the fact that it was created by nurses for nurses (). I am very curious how the Johns Hopkins Nursing model works and what it would look like in action. However, the model best suited to address care needs in your practice setting would be the ACE Star model. The first reason why I would use the ACE star model is because of my conformability with this model. I have worked with this model several times and know how to utilize all of its features. Likewise, in my practice setting there are a lot of different disciplines and one of the great features about the ACE star model is that it is widely used and taught so most people are familiar with it ().
