Despite Jonathan Iwegbu losing many of his material assets, he still possesses positive traits in Chinua Achebe’s “Civil Peace, “which allows him to keep moving forward. “He had come out of war with five inestimable blessing – his head, his wife, and the heads of his 3 children” (389).
