Jose L. Garcia-Aponte was born in Guayama, Puerto Rico. He is blessed to have two children, US ARMY PFC Caleb Ho’Onuii, a member of the elite 82nd Airborne Division, Velmarye and one amazing grandson, Mr. Alejandro, and a Maximum aka: MAX an English Golder Retriever. After almost 29 years of honorable service to his nation as a US ARMY soldier he retired on 2009 as a Command Sergeant Major at Program Executive Office of Simulation Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) in Orlando, Florida. In June 2005 he was awarded the Soldiers Medal for saving the life of another soldier. He is the cofounder of the “One By One Foundation”, an organization developed to reach, serve, and assist the beach, street, and homeless people residing in the west side of Oahu, Hawaii. Additionally, he is certified by Toastmasters International. As member of Word of Life Christian Center in Honolulu, HI he developed the “Debt-Free Ministry.” Later as member of the ROCK Family Worship Center (FWC) Deacon Team, established the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University program a class designed to bring clarity, discipline, and a common-sense approach to finances for families across the city of Huntsville, Al. He took those concepts and share them as the facilitators of Paz Financiera in Orlando, FL. Jose is also a certified trainer and facilitator of the Dave Ramsey (FPU) Financial Peace Workplace Program. He believes that no one person reaches the top by himself or herself, but it is rather a collection of efforts, ideas, and thoughts that bring any worthwhile endeavor to fruition. His mission is to walk, or run any event he can from ½ to full Marathons, 5/10 K, to the RAGNAR Relay Series event with the purpose of raising understanding, awareness and resources for the Wounded Warrior, their families and the families of our FALLEN
