Joseph Armand Bombardier was born in Valcourt Quebec on April 16, 1907. Joseph was the oldest out of eight children. He always loved working with engines since he was 13 years of age. Actually, one of his first projects as a young boy was building a small locomotive with one of the clock mechanisms which he bought at a jeweller in his little home town. In the year of 1929, Joseph married Yvonne Labrecque and a few years in their marriage they had a little family of six children. One day in the month of January of 1934 a tragedy hit the family, Joseph couldn’t bring his two year old son in time to the hospital due to the poor road conditions. From that day he made himself a promise that he needed to create a machine that would be capable to cope with the harsh weather that was thrown to them in that time.
