Joseph Haydn, an Austrian composer of the classical period (March 31, 1732 in Rohrau, Austria - May 31, 1809 Vienna Austria), was one of the most important figures in the development of the classical art style genre of music during the 18th century by creating the unique style for the string quartet and the symphony being referred to as the "Father of the Symphony" and the "Father of the String Quartet" in recognition of his immense contribution to musical achievement. Born as the son of a folk musician he developed an early interest in music, his musically inclined parents recognized their young son’s talents and aspirations arranging for him to acquire proper musical training where he blossomed into an adept youth singer and performed in a children’s choir (Karl Geiringer, Raymond L.
