Joseph Haydn was a man of his time, and could be said to be one of the most famous composers in Europe then. Born into a family of musicians on 31 March 1732, Haydn also grew up in his parents’ footsteps to become a court musician for the Esterházy family at their remote estate. Haydn’s music was wide-spread and heard by many in Europe, and recognized and loved by his audience, he could be said to have achieved the peak of excellence in composing and performance.
